Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Family Violence Project

The Leech Lake Family Violence Program strives to do its best in supporting any person affected by family violence in a respectful, nonjudgmental manner, always seeking the empowerment of each individual in gaining freedom from violence and abuse.

Services provided include 24 hour/7 day weekly crisis call assistance: (218) 766-1741 or (218) 766-1205, service to domestic violence victims, free, confidential help, safe, caring environment, individual support, emergency transportation to safety, weekly support group, education, orders for protection, harassment restraining orders, referrals, legal advocacy, and system advocacy.

What does it mean to be trauma-informed?

Our advocates understand the impact of trauma on adults and youth. Our staff, services and buildings prioritize physical, psychological and emotional safety and are space for victims/survivors to have a sense of control and feel empowered to make their own choices.
