HOPE Coalition provides the following programs and support for individuals and families including the Haven of Hope Domestic Violence Shelter, support groups, safety planning, legal advocacy, information and referrals, a 24-hour crisis hotline.

Their Kids Count program provides support, education, and advocacy to youth ages 0 to 24 who have experienced neglect; emotional, physical, or sexual abuse; or have witnessed violence. This advocacy can include: educational resources, emotional support, safety planning, crisis intervention, referrals, and information regarding healthy relationships, increasing coping skills, and other related topics.

Hope Coalition also provide Sexual Assault Services including support groups; advocacy during medical exams, law enforcement interviews, and civil or criminal court matters; safety planning; assistance in securing emergency services; assistance in filing victim compensation claims; collaboration with other social service providers; and access to culturally-appropriate interpreters and materials.

Finally, through their Community Care Fund, HOPE Coalition provides assistance to families in crisis who are unable to pay for basic necessities or living expenses (rent, food, utilities,etc.). Their program focuses on developing self-sufficiency to help reduce future needs. They also provide housing assessment and release planning for inmates at Goodhue County Adult Detention Center.

What does it mean to be trauma-informed?

Our advocates understand the impact of trauma on adults and youth. Our staff, services and buildings prioritize physical, psychological and emotional safety and are space for victims/survivors to have a sense of control and feel empowered to make their own choices.
