Domestic Violence survivor in Minnesota white top holding book

No one deserves to be abused. And, it’s not your fault.

Domestic Violence

Domestic violence is not a private issue and you are not alone.  It is an issue that can impact any individual, of any identity, relationship, or community.

Domestic violence is a pattern of behaviors used by one person to have power and control over another person. Violence can happen in any domestic relationship. An abuser can be a spouse, partner, roommate, care provider, or other trusted individual. It can be confusing and hard to know exactly what to do.

Your Options

No one knows your situation like you do. Day One supports you in your own decision-making process and will partner with you to explore the best steps for you!  People reach out for help in different ways, and not all options work for everyone. You may choose to get support from a family, friend, an advocate, law enforcement, or other sources. You may want assistance leaving your situation or home. Or you might want to know how to stay safer in your current situation. You are your own best expert.

Because everyone’s journey is different, at Day One, we respect your choices. We’re here to serve your unique needs, without judgment.
